By the end of the course students will be able to- develop an understanding of the history and modern concepts of child health and child-care while exploring the national child welfare services, national programs and legislation in the light of National Health Policy 2017. They will also be able to describe the role of preventive paediatrics and perform preventive measures in order to avoid potential accidents. Students will learn about participating in national immunization programs like the Universal Immunization Program (UIP) and will also be able to identify the developmental needs of children and provide parental guidance. They will learn how to describe the principles of child health nursing and perform child health nursing procedures and how to demonstrate competencies in newborn assessment, planning and implementation of care to normal and high-risk newborn including neonatal resuscitation, child CPR and much more.
