Community Pharmacy is the place where most pharmacists practice the profession of pharmacy. It consists of a retail storefront with a dispensary where medicines are stored and dispensed. Community Pharmacy offers various functions, including Providing health information to patients and the public, Prescription handling, Patient counselling, Patient medication record, Pharmacy administration, and compounding. This book has been written with the idea of introducing different aspects and fundamentals of the subject of Community Pharmacy and Management to students of diploma level. This book contains all the important parameters that need to be considered before and during patient counselling and treatment. The contents of the book have been designed in accordance with the latest revised syllabus of the Pharmacy Council of India for D. Pharm Second Year Students. This book consists of 10 Chapters. The book covers prescription handling with good dispensing practices, patient counselling, communication skill, over-the-counter medications, and various health screening services in community pharmacies with community pharmacy management. We realize that this book will fulfil the course objective like professional handling and filling prescriptions, patient counselling on diseases and minor ailments, patient counselling on prescription and/or non-prescription drugs, preparation of counselling materials such as patient information leaflets, and performing basic health screening tests. In compiling this book, we have consulted several books, journals, and other regulatory materials, and we express our indebtedness to those authors, publishers, and regulatory officials. This book has been written to provide theoretical information in an operational manner about procedures, techniques, and methods used to maintain the management and dignity of the community pharmacist.
